DIY - Charm & Ribbon necklace

Today I have a two in one DIY project for you !!! First, how to take a cue from Marni to make a necklace longer, and two, how to make a charm and ribbon necklace. And you will see how, like my fellow blogger, Stephanie from Henry Happened would say, ridiculously easy that DIY is !

The necklace I used is from Aldo (from a couple of seasons ago). I just didn't wore it because it was to short to my liking.

  1. SUPPLY: A necklace that you want to make longer (or a chunky chain and some charms), ribbons (I used black but really it's up to you !!!), some tread and needle in the same color as your ribbon and a lighter.
  2. If you choose to make your own necklace, just take the chain and put the charms on it
  3. If you choose to make an already existing necklace longer, just take off the clasp so you're left only with the chain at the end.
  4. Take two pieces of ribbon of the same lenght, and lightly burn the end with a lighter so it doesn't fray.
  5. Sew the ribbon at the end of the chain
  6. Make both sides and that's it ! ENJOY !
Hope you like that DIY project ! If you want to see my others DIY you can see them HERE.

  1. That is so clever Marie-Eve! I'm sure so many of us have a choker style necklace with a little too much choke ;) which goes un-worn. What a great way to reinvent an accessory.

  6. This is great. I have a few too short necklaces that I might try this with. I like the idea of making the lengths a little more flexible with ribbon since so many of my tops have different necklines.
